Establishment of the company ZOONOMI SA, by Georgios Varvatsoulis, Veterinarian and Rinio Dimaki Varvatsouli, Chemical Engineer, having more than 20 years of professional experience in the Animal Feed and Aquafeed field. Plants
ZOONOMI SA operates two aquafeed production plants located in the prefecture of Corinthia.
The first plant, established in 1997, is situated in Kritika, Ancient Corinth, within privately owned facilities covering 18,500 m², just 500 meters from the Athens-Patras National Highway. This facility produces feed sizes ranging from 4.5 mm to 12 mm, with an annual capacity of 35,000 tons. It also features a separate production line for medicated feeds, which is licensed by the National Organization for Medicines, as well as separate production lines for enriched feeds and premixes. The company’s headquarters are also located at this site.
The second plant was built in 2020 in Kokkinies, Agioi Theodoroi, within privately owned facilities of 35,000 m², easily accessible via the Athens-Corinth National Road. This facility produces specialized feeds for the hatchery and nursery stage with sizes from 100 µm to 3 mm using state-of-the-art equipment, with an annual capacity of 15,000 tons. Additionally, it features a top-of-the-line premix production unit with a capacity of 3,000 tons per year.

Of utmost importance for the company is the safety and excellent quality of the products produced, aiming at the absolute satisfaction of the customer. The motto “BECOMING ONE WITH QUALITY” represents the philosophy that seeks all its employees to have, a common feed safety culture. Quality Control
The quality control department, with its strong presence throughout the production process, actively contributes to the assurance of high-quality producing products, which is the company’s basic principle.
The company’s two quality control laboratories are staffed with specialized and experienced scientific personnel including chemists, agriculturalists and ichthyologists. There, quality control of incoming raw materials and manufactured products is carried out.
Both of them are equipped with spectrophotometers of the ultraviolet-visible spectrum (N.I.R.), moisture analyzers and stereoscopes. This way is possible to achieve in real time control on both products (at any stage of the production process) and incoming raw materials.
The department has also an Atomic Absorption Spectrometer Systems and a High-Performance Liquid Chromatography so it performs vitamin and trace element tests
Additionally, it implements an annual self-check program as described by the certified quality and food safety management systems, in collaboration with accredited external laboratories, ensuring that the products are within specifications and in accordance with European Legislation.
